I write light-hearted paranormal cozy mysteries about midlife sleuths navigating big life changes—some welcome (freedom to chase long-held dreams) and some… less expected (supernatural abilities and an inconvenient number of murders).
If you love best friends in odd pickles, twisty small-town mysteries, and cheeky paranormal visitors, you’re in the right place.
Like many authors, I draw inspiration from real life. I live in a small town near Lake Ontario in Canada. I love the Great Lakes. That’s why my Midlife is Murder series is set along the south shore of Lake Superior in the fictional town of Bookend Bay.
More recently, I’ve taken up sailing with my partner, John—one of the most challenging and rewarding adventures of my life. It was only natural to give my Midlife is Magic heroine a sailboat of her own.
My love of the paranormal runs in the family. My dad was fascinated by all things mysterious, which convinced me early on that there’s more to this world than meets the eye. That belief shows up in my stories through ghosts, psychics, hidden magic, and even the occasional parallel universe.
And because I found love later in life, you might find a slow-burn romance woven into my books too—because everyone deserves a second-chance love story.
I also write time-travel romance under my pen name Sharon Clare
And fun children's activity and story books under C.S Lockhart

After a rough summer, Quinn Delaney is finally feeling good about her life. Her new cafe is bustling, and she’s gotten rid of her cheating husband.
Then a mysterious box shows up with surprising contents.
Quinn always does the honorable thing, so she and her best friend deliver the box to the rightful owner—a family who’s suffered a tragic loss—bringing happiness to everyone, right?
Wrong. Everything falls apart when she inadvertently starts a family feud. As tempers flare and family members tell stories that don’t add up, Quinn digs deeper to uncover the truth behind an ‘accidental death.’
Things go from bad to worse when she meets a troubled ghost who insists Quinn has put a woman in mortal danger.
They say no good deed goes unpunished, but surely Quinn couldn’t have given a killer a reason to strike again.
If you like sleuthing best friends, midlife debacles, and ghosts seeking justice, you’ll love this paranormal, cozy mystery in the Midlife is Murder series.
