I write light-hearted mysteries that feature midlife sleuths navigating significant life changes—some joyful (the freedom to pursue long-held dreams) and others... more unexpected (supernatural abilities and an inconvenient number of murders).

Like many authors, I draw inspiration from my surroundings. I live in a small town near Lake Ontario in Canada, with a deep love for the Great Lakes. That’s why my Midlife is Murder series is set along the south shore of Lake Superior in the fictional town of Bookend Bay. 

More recently, I’ve embraced sailing with my partner, John—one of the most challenging and rewarding adventures of my life. It felt only natural to give my Midlife is Magic heroine her own sailboat. 

My fascination with the paranormal runs in the family. My dad was intrigued by all things mysterious, which instilled in me the belief that there’s more to this world than meets the eye. This belief is reflected in my stories through ghosts, psychics, hidden magic, and even the occasional parallel universe. 

Additionally, as I found love later in life, you might discover a slow-burn romance woven into my books—because every midlife sleuth deserves a second-chance love story. 

I also write time-travel romance under my pen name, Sharon Clare, and engage in creating fun children's activity and storybooks under C.S Lockhart.
